Wingspan is Tucson's Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender community center -- a place to call or go and check out. Wingspan has a new wonderful meeting space with an art show on the walls, books to check out, pamphlets and notices to read, and most importantly, discussion and support groups to attend.
The gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning
youth group meets on Saturday afternoons from 3-5pm.

The Wingspan Anti-Violence Project is a social change and social service program that works to address and end violence in the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people. We provide free and confidential 24-hour crisis intervention, information, support, referrals, emergency shelter, and advocacy to LGBT victim/survivors of violence. S.A.A.F. is Tucson's AIDS awareness,
support, and prevention center with paid staff and many volunteers helping in
any way to combat the war against AIDS. Within S.A.A.F, there is Queer Voice
(gay youth social activism and social activities), Gay Mentor Project, Salud Es
Poder (Latino Men's Health Project).

Eon Youth Lounge seeks to assist Gay, Lesbian,
Bisexual and Transgender youth with support and information so that they can
make safe and healthy decisions for life. Eon has movie nights, swim
parties, annual retreat, cafe chats and many other functions designed to bring
queer youth together in a fun and supporting environment.
Eon Youth Lounge is funded in part by SAAF (Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation) and Pima
County Health Department.

GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education
Network) is the largest national organization that brings together gay
and straight teachers, parents, students, and concerned citizens in order to
end the destructive effects of anti-gay bias in schools across the
country.
The Tucson chapter meets once a month on the first Thursday of the month at the

PFLAG (Parents and Friends of Lesbians and
Gays) is a national organization that focuses on providing information
and support for parents, family members, and friends of GLB children. PFLAG
provides literature, pamphlets, political activism in support of GLB sons and

Pride Alliance--The Bisexual, Gay and
Lesbian Association is a service of the Associated Students of The University
of Arizona. Pride Alliance seeks to make available to students a space where
students may become more comfortable with themselves and an opportunity for
other campus groups to find information about the gay/lesbian/bisexual
experience.
Pride Alliance meets every Thursday evening at 5:30 PM in an office located in
room 350 of the Memorial Student Union.

The Weekly Observer is a gay-oriented
free newspaper that is distributed on Wednesday each week. The Observer carries
local, state, national, and international news articles as well as regular
informational columns on many topics. The Observer is free due to
advertisements throughout the paper--advertisers are business owners (travel
agencies, auto dealers, insurance, landscapers), bars, as well as gay and
lesbian pay-per-use "chat" lines and electronic services.
A calendar of events and a classifieds/notices section is at the end of each
paper. The notices are especially good because a description is provided for
many gay-related groups and meetings, such as the Young and Gay group that
meets at WingSpan each Saturday.
Pick up a copy of The Observer at any gay bar (kind of tough for the under 21
crowd) or at Rainbow Planet Coffeehouse on Fourth Ave. Ask more businesses to
carry The Observer.
The Rubyfruit Journal is a locally published lesbian monthly magazine that is distributed at Antigones Books on 4th Avenue and at the larger book retailers in Tucson. Rubyfruit Journal has news (local, state, national, and international) as well as fiction pieces, reviews of books and movies, regular informational columns on many topics. Rubyfruit Journal has advertising throughout the magazine--advertisers are local business owners.
The Echo Magazine is a weekly magazine published in Phoenix and is distributed in Tucson at Rainbow Planet Coffeehouse, WingSpan, and the gay bars. Echo has news (local, state, national, and international) as well as gay-related articles, reviews of books and movies, regular informational columns on many topics--mostly with a Phoenix slant. Southern Arizona Gender Alliance (SAGA)
has the following as their mission statement:
The Southern Arizona Gender Allianced envisions an America where transgender people are ensured of their basic rights and can be open, honest, and safe at home, work, and in the community. To work towards this goal, SAGA will help to organize political and social programs for all transgender people and their significant others, friends, families, and allies (SOFFAs) who need them.
The Desert Voices Chorus is a Tucson vocal chorus comprised of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, questioning singers. Desert Voices has many concerts throughout the year in many different locations.
The Reveille Gay Men's Chorus is a Tucson vocal chorus comprised of gay and bisexual male singers. Reveille has many concerts throughout the year in many different locations.
