Twenty-One of the area middle & high schools now have gay student groups (or alliances) that provide support for teens on those respective campuses. Yes.. you read that right: MIDDLE schoolsee Doolen Middle School below. These clubs usually welcome straight, gay-friendly, and questioning teens to meetings. Contact these schools (or the National web-site of GLSEN or GLSEN Arizona Tucson) for more information on how they set up their student group/club and start the process of getting a group at your school! Support your school's Gay/Straight Alliance--attend meetings!

GLBTeen Blog
I've set up a blog called
Tucson GSA Hangout Mailing List
I've set up an mailing list called GLBTeenTucson GSA Hangout. This "club" is a place for Tucson area high school students to interact and brainstorm about their GSA, the Imagine Project, and statewide issues & concerns. Click on this link to go to the web address and sign up for the mailing list and join to send & receive email messages or read & post messages to the GLBTeen-GSA Hangout group.
Please note: this new mailing list service (as of Nov.20, 2005) is intended to replace the Yahoo Tucson GSA Hangout "group" that has been mostly inaccessible for the past couple of months.
Imagine Project Meeting
Next scheduled meetings of the Imagine Project can be gleaned from David at dleimsieder@glsentucson.org.
Logon and visit the GLBTeen Bulletin Board discussion area and discuss your ideas for the future of Imagine Project.
"Voices of GLBT Youth"
GLSEN of Tucson sponsored the creation and distribution of a video titled, "Voices of GLBT Youth" that features interviews of local, Tucson GLBT youth telling their stories about being gay in high school. The above link is to a streaming video version made available by the video production company, PanLeft Productions. In addition, every high school in Tucson (with or without a GSA) should have received a VHS copy of the video. New copies of the video will be distributed in DVD format in the future.
