- The site was moved to our new, owned Domain Name, FrenchWithSubtitles.com on July 28th, 2003. Look for new features available through our hosting service in the near future.
- The site was moved back to Earthlink as of Nov. 23, 2001.
- This web site was brought online at the end of September 1999.
Here is a listing of what's been added to the Tucson GLBT Teen web site as of May 29, 2004:
- Tucson GLBT Teens Web Site
- The Tucson GLBT Teens site changed to a new hosting company, Site5.com I think very highly about these folks. Look for some new features in the near future. I'll say no more...
- Wait a minute... Yes, I will say more! I've added a Bulletin Board System for discussion on different topics by site visitors. Logon into BBS required to add to discussions.
- But wait... there's more! I've set up a mailing list called GLBTeenTucson GSA Hangout Mailing List. This "club" is a place for Tucson area high school students to interact and brainstorm about their GSA, the Imagine Project, and statewide interests. Visit the above link, provide your email, and take part in the discussions!
- I've set up a blog called GLBTeen Blog. I decided to add my own blog to the GLBTeen Resources web site. I have other blogs and decided that I'd like to add some of my own thoughts about GSAs, politics relating to GLBT issues, action items, news stories, etc. in the form of a blog to the site.
- Tucson GLBT Teens Web Site Revamped
- I've redesigned the web site and have converted all HTML code to use Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) markup option and pages are now using PHP language. CSS is very cool, very similar to style sheets in many powerful word processing programs. A certain paragraph type is designed to use a certain typeface (FONT), a certain font size/color/weight/alignment, etc. and that paragraph style is then referred to in all web pages by its style name. Want to change the paragraph style throughout the web site? Just change the style sheet and all web pages that have a reference to that style are updated. I removed an awful lot of deadweight code, and made things much cleaner and more consistent.
- Cleaned up the site interface by removing redundant text descriptions of links to external sites when I had a clear, graphical link to the site. "ALT" tags are still present on the graphical links. Places where the icons aren't too clear, I've left the link text.
- Changed the layout of the web site, with a big thrust to make the site easier to view and navigate for text-only browsers or folks using screen-reader software to surf the web. The text-only, no-frames version has had all graphics removed for the focus of supporting text-only browsing.
- Added a link back to the graphical "home" page. You can get to the graphical view of the site from the Home button at the bottom of all pages with graphics. Discovered frames not showing by searching via Google and not getting header or sidebar content. <grrrr...>
- GLBTeen Blog
- I've set up a blog called GLBTeen Blog. I decided to add my own blog to the GLBTeen Resources web site. I have other blogs and decided that I'd like to add some of my own thoughts about GSAs, politics relating to GLBT issues, action items, news stories, etc. in the form of a blog to the site.
- Tucson Gay/Straight Alliances
- Updated the links to include new GSAs at local Tucson high schools. There are now TWENTY-ONE GSAs active in Tucson area high schools.
- Added (end of October 2004) a link to the new GLBTeen Bulletin Board discussion area a page on the Tucson GLBTeen web site designed to help GSA members and sponsors to communicate. Take the time to do a brief registration and be a part of the discussion, brainstorming new ideas, helping your (and other) GSAs grow!
- Links in various places for a message area I've set up an mailing list called GLBTeenTucson GSA Hangout Mailing List. This "club" is a place for Tucson area high school students to interact and brainstorm about their GSA, the Imagine Project, and statewide interests.
